Christian Albert Theodor Billroth (1829 - 1894) was a highly regarded Austrian surgeon; amateur musician, scholar of music, and close friend of Johannes Brahms. Our Fine full leather lithographic reprint is from the doctor's more complete 4th German edition, trans. into English.

SUPERIOR COPY: Tight, bright, clean copy. Previous physician's handsome leather bookplate on front marbled pastedow (possibly customized by the publisher). Slight speckling to fore-edges' gilt: NOT affecting paper or diminishing gilt brightness.
