Dust jacket has many small chips and tears along edges, lightly soiled, tan cloth covers, 522 pages including index, illustrated with black and white photos, upper front corner bumped, light spotting along bottom edge of front cover, upper corner of one page wrinkled, inscription "Elizabeth M Connors a gift from Marcie and John Keating" on front endsheet. Enclosed is a letter from John Keating: "Dear Betty, I am sending you a copy of a book of memoirs of my uncle Edward Keating. becoming the youngest managing editor of a major city newspaper. he mixed his newpaper work with swashbuckling adventures in Denver politics. in 1912 he was elected to Congress and has the unique distinction, in his freshman term, of introducing two major pieces of legislation, both of which were enacted: both of which were declared unconstitutional by the United states Supreme Court: on both of which the Court later reversed itself and held them constitutional. They were the Child Labor Law and the Minimum Wage for Women .From 1920 to his ultimate retirement he was editor of Labor, the official publication of the 21 railroad Brotherhoods.
