Tight binding. 8 woodcuts before TP depict 32 types of Britons. 19x11cm,406,46pp. . 10 woodcut plates thruout text depict various scenes around the world. 12 extra woodcuts from another printing. The 46p index titled "Varieties of the Human Race" is authored by James G. Percival. Text moderately soiled & foxed. One of the woods before tp with a long horizontal tear repaired on verso with archival tissue, two more loosening. Cover spine heel frayed 1/8", other extrems scuffed. Both inner hinge papers cracked. Hinges still sound. .
