Elliot Stock, London, 1878 This is the first edition. Scarce. The original softcover book has been rebound between maroon cloth-covered boards, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, 64 pp., b/w illustrations. The front cover is loose and laid in; chipping at the lower fore-edge corner of the front cover, with an old tape stain here as well; text and front cover illustration intact. Otherwise, pages clean and binding intact. The famous one pound bank note is present. A nice copy of the scarce first edition. (1722RO007). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
