George Cruikshank was one of England's best and most notable 19th-century caricaturists and book illustrators. In 1841, Cruikshank sought an outlet for his for his art that he had complete control over – no publisher or editor control. The result was the 'Omnibus' in 1842. This 'Omnibus' contained numerous comedic articles, essays, and even short stories with 100 engravings on both wood and steel engravings of the famed Cruikshank art.
