New York: Scribner, 1948. hardcover. very good(+). Illustrated. 6 volumes. Tall thick 8vos, gilt-lettered black cloth. New York: Scribner's, 1948-1954. First Edition. Very good (+).<br/> <br/> Lacks the last volume which was written posthumously by other authors. Cloth is lightly soiled on volumes I-IV. Volumes V and VI has a light thin dampstain to top margins. Volumes I-IV have the publisher's slipcase which is lightly worn and cracked. Otherwise the set is in very good condition.<br/> <br/>
