MacKinlay Kantor (1904 - 1977), was a former war correspondent during WW-II & Korea, journalist, novelist and screenwriter. He wrote more than 30 novels, several set during the American Civil War. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1956 for his novel, Andersonville.
