About This Item
Philadelphia/Chicago/Toronto: John C. Winston Company, 1933. Teen's account of his family's 1929 yacht voyage to Tahiti and Marquesas islands, with a school friend; his father, a notable naturalist & politician, was between his two terms as Governor of Pennsylvania (and wrote his own account of the voyage). Hardcover in scarce jacket, as pictured; a variant binding with red instead of gilt - we surmise the gilt version was issued without jacket. First edition (first printing), listing no additional printings. Light wear to book, some tanning & foxing to the pages; ink date & VIII to endsheets; jacket rubbed with some edgewear, short tears, foxing, light spine fade, $2.00 price intact. Text clean; [xii], 241 pages; wood engravings, sepia-toned photos. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Octavo.
