Publisher's glossy pictorial boards, issued without jacket, blue endpapers. Some rubbing to sides, extremities bumped. A very good copy, with presentation note to flyleaf; To / **** / with love / Roald Dahl / 14/10/85 (flourish). This copy was purchased at Dahl's local bookshop (ticket to pastedown) and inscribed close to publication (October 1985). This volume is one of five inscribed Dahl books directly obtained from the recipient, a friend of Theo Dahl, the author's third child and only son. The books' owner spent much time around the Dahl house in Great Missenden and had an after-school job at Dahl and Son Antiques on the High Street. A separate written account of his time spent with the family is supplied with this book.
