About This Item

London:: Allen Lane,, (1980.). Hardcover first edition -. Fine in fine dust jacket.. First printing, first issue. A very different novel by the author best known for 'Watership Down.' A love story with a steadily growing undertone of horror. It is ironical - in light of the fact that in the preface to this book, Adams says that he "cannot be sure of unravelling the experienced from the imagined" - that this novel was the subject of a libel suit, and the first printings were suppressed and the name of the main character - Kathe - was changed (this first issue printing still has the original name of Kathe) but it was produced for the Canadian market with the price - $12.95 - in Canadian dollars. 397 pp.
