Octavo; dark yellow cloth, with titles stamped in green on spine and front cover; green topstain; dustjacket; 209pp. Bookplate signed by the author loosely laid in. Subtle fading to topstain, else Fine in a Near Fine dustjacket, unclipped ($4.95), with some mild shelfwear and dustiness and a few tiny stains to upper rear panel. "This compelling novel, set in the green chaos of East Africa, concerns the ambitions of three women, teachers at a remote girls' school. They are the only white women in this region, and each is in her way doomed." An attractive copy of the author's second book.
