London & New York: Oxford University Press, 1957. Hardcover, 8 3/4 inches, 21 cm. 273 pages. Third edition. Myths and tales of Canadian indigenous peoples told by "a gifted storyteller" and collected by Cyrus MacMillan (1878-1953). MacMillan was a professor of English and Dean at McGill University and Canada's Minister of Fisheries. First published as Canadian Wonder Tales (1918) and Canadian Fairy Tales, (1922), by John Lane, the Bodley Head. A miniature folding pamphlet entitled "the Treasures of Blomidon" is laid in - this is an additional tale of Glooscap (alternate spelling) from Nova Scotia. Illustrated with frontispiece plus sixteen red and black plates, as well as black and white line drawings in the text. Book is very good with a slight incline; dust jacket has light wear to the edges. . Hardcover. Very Good/Good +. Illus. by John A. Hall. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
