Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1953. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. Full bound yellow cloth boards with black lettering to spine; some toning to front and rear endpapers, otherwise clean; binding solid. Dustjacket shows original price of $3.50 (corner is clipped, with bit of "0" in the price removed). Some fade of blue and gold at the spine; some edgewear at head and heel of spine; small chip and 1/2 inch closed tear at head of spine. A sequel to "Tin Sword", and the author's second novel. A comic novel set in Los Angeles in 1919, it is the story of Joshua Doty ( "a cross between Tristam Shandy and Lorenzo the Magnificent") - police reporter, movie publicity man, and free-lance pencil (newspaper reporter).
