The only marking is a neatly penned inscription on the front free endpaper "With love to Thea from Mammy. Xmas 1943." Pages are clean and crisp. Red stained top edge. Tightly bound in buff colored cloth with title gilt stamped on spine and front cover, silhouette of children seated under a tree stamped in black on front cover. Light toning to cloth along edges and spine but cover is otherwise fine. Boards sharp. Binding hand hinges firm, intact and straight. Dust jacket moderately shelf worn and edge rubbed with short tears and chips especially at corners, spine ends and along bottom edge of rear panel. Jacket spine lightly toned and there is a small ink mark on front cover. Jacket is in a clear archival protector. 5 x 7-3/4". [xii] + 168 pages plus 4 pages of publisher ads at rear.. First Thus.
