London & Glasgow: Blackie & Son. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Not dated but circa 1940. x, 148pp. Orange cloth-covered boards, with brown lettering and decorations (boards a little worn at edges, cloth has a little bubbling and slightly soiled). Previous owner's name on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean and tight barring some faint, occasional spotting. Preceded by a defence of the study of verse and an outline approach to understanding and criticism. Poets represented include Edward Ernest Bower, Wordsworth, Thomas D'Arcy, William Henry Graves, Lord Tennyson, Cosmo Monkhouse, William Cowper, Oliver Goldsmith, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, Robert Browning, Shirley Brooks, Thomas Hood and many, many more.
