About This Item

1ST EDITION, 1ST STATE(John Day Publishing Company) and all 1st issue points. Top stain, flees, John Day last page, if there are any others I bet it is in here. The glassine Dustjacket came with it(Wraps as stated by Ahearn & Blanck). Unmarked, unread, clean, square. Check the photos. The rear spine cloth may seem slightly loose(appearance), that is it that I can see but listed as Near Fine?

ADDED to this collection is the remaining books of the Trilogy(the Sons and A House Divided both are Great Copies themselves-search my books for the photos of them also) and the 4th book of the Saga(The Mother). I have been collecting Mrs Buck's books for over 40 years and they are hard to keep in stock.

The TLS came from a 5th grade school teacher back in the 90's just waiting for the right book to come along. I sold off 4 of the cards but I did keep 1 mentioned in the letter.

I know there are several listed for big bucks but do they mention what state of First Edition? NO! I show in photos and have a few more if you would like to see.

Synopsis

The Good Earth is a Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Pearl S. Buck , an American writer who spent the bulk of the first part of her life in China. Set in the Anhui Province where Buck once lived, it chronicles the rise and fall of Wang Lung and his family, portraying a realistic portrait of life in a Chinese Village prior to World War I. While not initially well received by critics, the novel immediately became a bestseller and has since been recognized as one of the most important 20th century works of fiction. It was also notable for its role in preparing the American public to accept the Chinese as allies later during World War II. The novel was followed by two sequels, Sons and A House Divided to complete the House of Earth Trilogy. -

About Pulitzer Prize Books.com

I am a private collector, mainly Pulitzer Prize winners, but I inherited 1000's of hardcovers and looking to sell them off. I will be relocating in the near future, and need to lighten the load.
