About This Item
Los Angeles: Herbert Palmer Gallery, 1995. Ephemera. Very Good. Three unmarked pieces of ephemera for Gordon Onslow-Ford exhibitions at the Herbert Palmer Gallery in Los Angeles. (1) One four-sided folded piece for an exhibition "Paintings of the Inner World: An Exhibition of Color in Space." It has two small thumbnails and short texts by Fariba Bogzaran and Herbert Palmer. (2) The second piece is a 3.75x9 inches exhibition card for Lee Mullican and Gordon Onslow Ford paintings, with on images. (3) The third piece is a postcard for the "Inner-Word Images of the Unconscious" exhibition, which included Onslow-Ford, Mullican, Paalen, Matta, Banks, and others. The card has no images and there is some mailing label residue on the back. Onslow-Ford (1912-2003), a British-born artist, was the youngest and last surviving member of the original Surrealist artistic group, led by the poet Andre Breton. Also included in the group were Matta, Joan Miro, Marcel Duchamp, Yves Tanguy, Jean Arp, and Salvador Dali.
