About This Item

Penguin, 1962. Ex-Library. Ex Reference Library. Cloth. First Edition. 10 1/2" x 7 1/4". 315 pages + 192 pages of black and white plates, 57 text drawings and maps locating all sites mentioned in the text. Paul Frankl was one of the leading architectural historians of his time; this book is the result of lifetime's original research. A genuinely scarce title in this first edition, this copy is ex-reference library (bookplate of Deptford Public Libraries on inside of upper board, stamped opposite 'sold by Lewisham Library Service', further accession stamp, over-stamped 'withdrawn', on back of title page; dw has approximately 2" vertical strip removed - possibly to ensure the Deptford Library bookplate is visible?). Apart from these fairly inoffensive marks of being ex-library, and a slightly worn and carefully repaired dw, the book is overall in very good condition..
