Beautifully bound by Root of London in light blue morocco, gilt titles, decorations to spine and gilt rule with 5 raised bands and gilt rule and decoration to the boards, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Boards have light wear present to the extremities of the boards (spine is lightly faded and worn). No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Hamilton's memoirs of Count Grammont, in a fine binding. Philibert, comte de Gramont (1621 1707) was a French nobleman. Anthony Hamilton (1646 1720) was an Irish classical author who wrote in French. The Mmoires du comte de Gramont made Hamilton one of the classical writers of France. Philibert, Count de Gramont (1621 – 31 January 1707) , was a French nobleman, known as the protagonist of the Mémoires written by Anthony Hamilton (his brother-in-law). He was a younger halfbrother of Antoine III of Gramont and uncle of Catherine Charlotte de Gramont, princess of Monaco. EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

London, Arthur L. Humphreys, 1906. Hardback, 8.5 x 6 inches. In dark brown polished morocco leather binding, gilt paneled boards with gilt lettering to front, raised banding and gilt paneling to spine with gilt lettering, and blind embossed decoration to spine edges. Full gilt page edging and brown endpapers. In very good condition. Some wear to cover; corners of boards rubbed and chipped, some darkening to boards with rubbing marks to front. Professional repair to spine, leather has been rebacked and re-laid. Later endpapers. Bookplate to front “Florence Cunard,” with inscription to top “Given me today by Aunt Ella 10.10.40. R.W. Fisher.” A couple of minor handling marks else inside pages all very clean, bright and tight throughout.
