London: George Routledge and Sons, 1883-1889. First edition. Hardback. Very Good. 11" by 15". Randolph Caldecott. A collection of drawings by English artist and illustrator, Randolph Caldecott. Caldecott exercised his art in book illustrations. He influenced illustration of children's books in the nineteenth century. These three books have a wide range of illustrations by Caldecott. The first edition of all three of these works. 'More Graphic Pictures' and 'Gleanings from the Graphic' were published posthumously. In the original quarter cloth bindings with pictorial boards. Externally, boards are heavily rubbed, particularly to the extremities. Bumping to the head and tail of spine which are also rubbed. Hinges to all volumes are strained but firm. A few chips to the bottom of pages to the final few leaves of 'Graphic Pictures'. Front endpaper to 'Graphic Pictures' is lacking portions to the head and tail. Endpapers to 'More Graphic Pictures are loosening slightly. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are generally bright with just the odd spots. Very Good
