New York: Printed for the Naval History Society by the De Vinne Press, 1916. First Thus. Limited to 650 copies of which this is no. 493. Octavo (23.75cm.); original vellum-backed boards embossed and lettered in gilt, top edge gilt; lxxviii,[2],268pp.; portrait frontispiece, 4 plates, all with printed tissue guards. Vellum rather darkened from dust soil and foxing, boards a bit rubbed along fore-edges, rear board unevenly toned, front hinge starting to crack but still strong; about VG. From the collection of maritime collector John Lowell with a gift inscription to him from his grandfather dated 1935.
