A. Newton Plummer's self-published historical study of securities and stock fraud at the New York Stock Exchange in the 1920s. The author supplied data and research to La Guardia to aid his testimony during the Pecora Investigation by Senate Committee on Banking and Currency in March 1932. The aim of the hearings was to reveal how financial institutions knowingly misled investors while consulting values, behavior that was revealed to have led to the 1929 stock market crash. Behaviors that have proved irremediable on Wall Street in the 90 years since. Full-page satirical cartoons at each chapter break.
