New York: Samuel French, (1931). Second Printing. Original wraps. Very good. 166p octavo, Buff wrappers printed in red. Some Toning on the wrappers, few small, faint splash marks on front wrap, very good. The Dedication copy Inscribed by Riggs to Barrett H Clark: "Dear Barrett - Here you are - your book again! Regards Lynn" The printed dedication in the book reads : "to Barrett H Clark." Clark's small bookplate is laid into th book. Clark was an exceptionally important figure in modern American drama, aside from writing many books, he served as the longtime literary editor for the publisher Samuel French. Riggs, of Cherokee descent, was the first Native American writer to achieve widespread success as a playwright. This play was later adapted by Rodgers and Hammerstein into their first collaboration, the musical play Oklahoma! Samuel French published both the hardcover and wrappered edition simultaneously.
