About This Item

London: William Jackson (Joiner & Steele), 1932. Edward Wolfe. First edition, limited issue. Frontispiece by Edward Wolfe, foreword by Osbert Sitwell. Number 24 of 550 copies SIGNED BY COLLIER. The story of a man-eating orchid surmised by some to be the basis for the 1960 film of THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Small 4to gilt-stamped brown cloth; top edge gilt; publisher's notice tipped to title page stating the "Furnival" books are now published by Joiner & Steele but retain the William Jackson imprint so as to be "typographically uniform." Good or better with covers somewhat darkened, gilt spine lettering a bit dulled and two small circular sticker shadows on spine.
