About This Item
George Routledge & Sons, 1867. Hardcover. VG. Maroon bevel edged boards, cloth blind stamped decoration to the front and rear boards with a highly decorative central plaque, with gilt stamped border to the front and gilt stamped titles and decoration to the spine. All edges gilt, (viii), 151pp (1) + (4) catalogue of Dalziels' Fine Art Gift Books with 104 hand coloured engravings by Griset. The boards are very good, having some pushing and rubbing to the spine tips and rubbing to the corners and decorative plaque. Internally, the book has had its endpapers replaced and has a gift inscription dated 1867 but exempting a little spotting to the preliminaries is very clean. An excellent example of Griset's humorous illustrations which are greatly enhanced by the addition of colour and as such are very scarce. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
