New York: The MacMillan Company, 1947. Original dark green cloth covers w/ gilt title on spines, and small gilt decoration on front covers. Bindings lightly soiled w/ modest rubbing to corners and spine ends. Edges of leaves a bit age toned. Tiny tear at top margins of several leaves in Vol. 3; small, faint dampstains at top edge of text block of Vol. 4. All volumes illustrated w/ b/w plates. Overall, a nice set.. Third Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good-/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
