About This Item

Vista : Huna Research Publications, 1955. First edition. Cloth. Good. 8.5" by 5.5". None . The first edition of this earnest description of the spiritual 'Huna system'. The first edition of this work by Max Freedom Long, in which he attempts to describe the "Huna system," his theory of metaphysics which the author believed to be some spiritual practices of the ancient Hawaiian kahunas. Modern scholars however discredit this belief due to lack of evidence, and consider it to be the author's creation of his own spiritual system, with roots in New Thought and Theosophy rather that in ancient Hawaiian practices. An earnest spiritual volume, this book discusses faith, love, breath, and human relationships.  In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, light soiling to the boards and a touch of darkening to the spine. Minor marking and spotting to the endpapers and edges, not affecting the leaves which are bright and clean throughout. Good
