About This Item
Signed. The author is descended from the family that moved to, what is now, Preston Road, in Dallas, Texas, in 1844. Texas was an independent republic at that time. The last of the family sold out in 1964, to make way for Valley View Shopping Center at the corner of Preston and LBJ Frwy. There are a lot of archival photographs, documents and a map of Dallas when Preston Road was called Preston Trail (formerly a cattle trail, later State Hwy 289). This first edition book is in fine, as new, condition. There is no dust jacket, but I don't think the book was issued with one. The author has signed, under her name, on the title page (no inscription). The first, and last, time I saw a copy of this book for sale was 6 years ago and I bought it; and this is it.
