Paris: Edouard Rouveyre, 1884. Book. Illus. by 46 Plates of Book Bindings. Very Good. Three-Quarter Leather. 8 Vo. Text in French. Subtitle is "Description Bibliographique et Anecdotique de deux cent vingt ouvrages rares, cuieux or singuliers". A fine binding in 3/4 red morocoo with marbled boards and marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. A bit of edgewear at the corners and hinges. Raised bands on the spine and bright gilt title. the spine has been rebacked, with the old back strip laid onto the new leather, professionally executed. Inside, clean and tight with no foxing or browning. A very pretty binding on the esteemed French art of fine book binding. .
