James Blackwood 1870 GOOD+ no dj . lovely blue and gilt decorative boards. spine covering is dulled/sunned with some small splits and rubbing. corners rubbed and rolled but no significant loss. ffep showing an old repaired seam - neatly done, and some isolated tarnish points. text block edges gilt and clean. internally, showing its 100 years + age - with ligth tanning and some foxing. all pages present and tightly bound in, save for the contents page which is laid in. no inscriptions or marginalia. An interesting companion guide on animals and birds. With eight full plate illustrations of various animals and birds throughout. Collated, complete. Captain Thomas Brown was a British naturalist and malacologist. This guide includes information on several amphibious animals, monkeys, pouched animals, as well as various birds from grouse to owl and song birds
