Harold Wendel Rusch ( October 14 , 1908 – August 23 , 1997 ) was an American composer and music educator . For certain works he also used the pseudonym: Wendel Reese .
Rusch attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Lawrence University in Appleton (Wisconsin) . He made a career as a music educator at various high schools and high schools in Wisconsin. His compositions include several pedagogical works. In addition to writing his own work, he also adapted classical works for concert band, such as the overture to the opera Nabucco , by Giuseppe Verdi .
