A collection of essays on various subjects, including, religious, philosophical, literary and historical topics. This issue also prints the music and lyrics to a song "Content," written by Dr. G.K. Jackson was a proponent of both instrumental and choral music (Elson, the National Music of America and Its Sources). Also in this issue is a work on agriculture and irrigation of farm lands, discussing means of finding the best locations for channels and providing a diagram for building a level. A theological/scientific discussion on the origin of the Earth is also featured. FAIR condition. Scattered minor to moderate foxing throughout, with the exterior dampstains affecting the first half of the interior.
