About This Item

Aberdeen: D. Wyllie & Son, 1900. Hardcover. First Edition, First Impression. 5.5 x 8.5in. 93pp. Publisher's cloth boards with gilt titling and decoration. Signed and inscribed by the author on the second front free endpaper: "To William Kelly with much gratitude from the Author, Charles Murray." Somewhat contradictory to the inscription, Murray's engraved bookplate is on the verso of the second front free endpaper. A poem by Murray, "Compensation," excised from The Outlook No. 22, 1902, has been tipped-in at the back endpaper and is additionally signed. VERY GOOD. Shows marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, spine lightly toned, endpapers toned, slightly over-opened at the front endpaper, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
