Embossed blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Contains colour plates. Pages are visibly tanned with minor foxing throughout. Heavier towards the start and end of the book. Small brown mark to few first pages. Missing front free endpaper. Noticeable cracking to front hinge. Notable discoloration to pastedowns and endpapers with pencil mark to rear endpaper. Plates with some light tanning and occasional marking. Light cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping and frying cloth to corners and rubbing to surface. Light sunning to front board and white marking to rear board. Noticeable split to front hinge. White mark and small scuff to spine with prominent crushing to ends. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.

Vol. I regards partridges, pheasants, and sand-grouse, with Vol. II continuing with pheasants and then megapodes, curassows, hoatzins, and bustard-quails. Previous owner's name in ink to front endpapers dated 1955. Stain to front cover of Vol. II (see image). Overall nice clean copies.
