London .UK: The Folio Society, 1995. Book. Illus. by W. Heath Robinson. Fine. Hardcover. Folio Society Reprint. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hans Christien Andersen wrote his fairy tales between 1835 and 1872 The fairy tales were first published in Danish from 1832 onwards, and in English from 1846. The text of this edition is taken from a selection of the fairy tales illustrated by W.Heath Robinson and published by Constable & Co.Ltd in 1913. The boards are covered in red cloth with gilt decoration and lettering, the head of the text block is ink stained red. Illustrated with colour plates and print block and line drawings.. The slipcase is also covered in red and has no tears. The boards, binding and text block are all square, tight and clean, and appear to be in an unread condition..
