New York: Harry N. Abrams. Cloth. Good/Poor. no date, circa 1963. Beige cloth in unclipped jacket. 228 pp. Many black and white and color plates throughout. A collection of essays by Hans Hofmann, a German born American painter, who opened and taught at several art schools and was and important figure in abstract expressionism painting. Hofmann discusses the color problem, plastic arts, etc. POOR jacket on a GOOD+ book. Very heavy chipping, tearing, creasing and loss to the jacket along the extremities of the jacket, with the clear lamination also peeling in several areas. Minor toning, soiling and edgewear to the book.
