New York, New York: Harper & Brothers, 1934. First Edition. Original Wraps. Good. Single original issue with covers and advertisements. Small quarto, 9 1/2" tall, pages 1 to 128 + ads, printed orange wraps. A good, sturdy issue overall, moderate shelf wear and exterior soiling, especially too the rear cover, rubbing to the spine edges, with foxing to the fore-edges; Interior good, internal binding solid, paper lightly yellowed, but a dampstain at the lower margin. This is an original issue and includes all of the editorial material (articles, stories, poetry, etc.) as well as the advertisements and covers. Note: ''Harper's Magazine' began publication in 1850 and recreated the American magazine, serving as a promotional vehicle for Harper and Brothers books as well as the new 'literary' fiction and essay of the time. Subject matters range from art, fiction, and poetry to history and science. As such it makes a terrific read as an anthology of its moment in time.
