Pp. xv, 519; frontispiece woodcut plate of Wick Harbor; 50 text-figures (all from woodcuts). Publisher's original forest green cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and with three panel lines at the head and foot of the spine, lg 8vo. The chapters cover the following topics: fish life and growth, fish commerce, fish culture, anglers' fishes, natural and economic history of the salmon, natural and economic history of the Herring, white-fish fisheries, natural and economic history of the oyster, our shell-fish fisheries and the fisher folk. No ownership marks and only a few signs of use.
