This is first appearance in book form of this screenplay specially printed for distribution to members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences in consideration for nomination of the Best Screenplay. The Hateful Eight was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, and Channing Tatum. The film is set in Wyoming in winter and tells the story of a bounty hunter and his prisoner who take shelter in a remote cabin along with a group of nefarious characters. It won an Oscar for Best Original Score and received two nominations for Best Supporting Actress (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Best Cinematography.
