About This Item

Israel: Even Hoshen Press, 2017. First Edition. Original Wraps. Fine in Wraps. First Edition. Original Wraps. "'Hatzvi typeface has been an immediate success', write Dr. Moshe Spitzer on his promotion page for the launch of this light 16-point typeface. Spitzer initiated the design of the modern Hebrew lettering based on their classic sans-serif shape. ... Its first version was developed while he was still alive and working on it, and it was a lively and open job type consisting of lines of almost equal thickness with very light hits of emphasis at the end of the lines, with the letter shapes based on the shapes that were prevalent in the early Middle Ages." [From the text]
Two leaves in English, five leaves in Hebrew, set in Hazvi. As is typical of Ido's work, the English 'reads' left to right, the Hebrew right to left, meeting [near] the center. Scarce. Tight, bright, and unmarred. Blue paper wrappers, black ink letters, black and red ink in text block. 8vo. np [8pp]. Typographic designs.
