About This Item
18th Series. E. T. Hazeltine, Warren, Pennsylvania. 5x3,5 cm.
--- A small mark on the upper (see photo).
--- This advertising almanac claiming to cure many ailments was distributed by druggists. Manufacturers of cough medicines, toilet soaps, and toothpowders distributed paper booklets for promotion. Hazeltine, later The Piso Company, began publishing its "Pocket Book" almanacs in 1879. The monthly calendar is present, with dates for eclipses and seasonal changes, together with half-a-dozen testimonials from readers who were cured of coughs, asthma, bronchitis and hemorrhaging of the lungs by the advertised product.
