He is considered one of the finest artists having dedicated most of his art on the U.S. Southwestern cultures and landscapes at the end of the 19th-century and the first half of the 20th-century (Wikipedia). This book contains a large volume of communications between Maynard Dixon and Herald R. Clark extending from 1937through 1945, with other related correspondence and documents through 1946. "Many of the letters are about collecting art, the major revelation being the details surrounding Herald R. Clark's astounding acquisition of 85 works of Maynard Dixon for Brigham Young University.".
