Title page and verso of final leaf browned and marked, scattered spotting, early inked ownership inscription of J. Kent Esq. to head of title, manuscript annotations in his hand to ‘dramatis personae’. The first edition of actor and playwright Francis Godolphin Waldron’s (bap. 1743, d. 1818) most performed play (also known as The Imitation, or, The Female Fortune Hunters and, originally, as The Belle's Stratagem), a lively romantic comedy inspired by George Farquhar's (1676/7-1707) The Beaux' Stratagem (1707).
