About This Item
Winnipeg: Henderson's Publishing Co. Ltd. Lby., 1901. 536 pp. Octavo. Original printed paper boards with cloth spine. Corners a bit worn and boards a bit soiled. Spine with a slight professional repair. Endpaper advertising. Last few leaves slightly defective and with edge chipping. Overall a very good copy of a fragile item printed on poor paper. Henderson's Publishing dates back to the 1870's in Western Canada. They published initially directories and gazetteers of Manitoba and the Northwest Territories and expanded to produce brand books and other interesting compilations of business's. They expanded to do individual cities all through the West and are a major source for research still. Early examples like this one are very scarce as they were overused, printed on cheap paper and were often discarded when a new edition came out. 1901
