Originally done as two volumes this is the one volume edition with 3 parts bound as one with seperate paginations. 17 x 10 cm. 16mo. xix 192pp [La Henriade], 96pp [Histoire Abregee], 96pp [Essay sur la Poesie Epique]. Bound into full brown leather with leather spine label and gilt decorations to spine. Marble endpapers and foredges. 11 full page illustrations including a frontispiece and an illustration in front of each of the 10 sections of the poem. French language text. Top 3 cm of front cover hinge are cracked and head of spine and corners of boards show rubbing and chipping. Previous owner's bookplate on front fixed endapepr. Cohen pg 1025.
