About This Item
1737 La Henriade by VOLTAIRE Henry IV France Cocchi Rinuccini Florence Paris
"Let us read and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world."
― Voltaire
'Henriade' is one of Voltaire's most famous and important poems. This work concerns and celebrates the life of Henry IV of France. While not tremendously popular during Voltaire's lifetime, 'Henriade' has continued to be one of the most popular 18th-century poems on the life of French royalty.
This 1737 edition was published in Paris by Prault with introductory letters of Antoine Cocchi and Rinuccini, Secretary of State in Florence.
