Janos Manga describes the way of life of the herdsmen, making the reader familiar with the ethnography of this bygone world; he uses contemporary documents supporting this description, with a rich inventory of fine examples of pastoral art--those tools and utensils the herdsmen had to make themselves, and decorated them out of their own artistic sense. Clean blue/white pictorial binding with Hungarian decorated vase on front. Boards have a touch of edgewear at corners and spine ends. Tight & solid. Interior clean and unmarked. 85 pages + 42 b/w and 16 colour plates. 5.75 x 7.75 inches. 1972, Corvina Press, Budapest, Hungary
