Clean interiors pages free of any markings. 322 indexed pages with 90 documentary black and white photos. 7"" X 4.25"" X 0.75"" 1974 Pulitzer Prize Winner. Collecting all of Newsday's Pulitzer Prize winning reporting on heroin in 1973 and 1974. Starts the heroin trail in Turkey where the ban on poppy is meaningless. Smugglers send it on to France to convert the raw materials of morphine into heroin. Details underworld ties with members of the French governments. Ends in the US, the main client for heroin. In 1974 dollars, morphine base sells at $350 a kilo, in Marseilles France at $1100 and once converted to heroin, at $240,000 in the US.
