About This Item
New York, NY Columbia University Press, 1995. Hardcover First Ed; First Printing indicated. First Edition; First Printing indicated. Near Fine in Near Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. Book shows very faint indications of shelving along the bottom edge of the quarter-cloth boards, which are ever-so-slightly bowed; the binding shows barely discernible lean, while remaining perfectly secure; text clean. DJ shows a thin line of very faint sunning along the front hinge; there is a crease at the upper corner of the inside front flap; else on the mildest rubbing; unclipped. Overall, very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 168pp. Hardback with DJ. An American gay man goes to the Yucatan to study how people there are living with HIV/AIDS and how doctors are trying to fight the disease. There have been several books written on U.S. Latinos and their struggles against the epidemic, but this is the first I've found that dealt with Native peoples living in Latin America. I hope that more authors produce books like this exploring different regions in the world.
