Anita O'Day was a popular jazz singer in the 1940's and 50's who became addicted to drugs for 14 years and ultimately conqured her habit. This is the story of her life and career. Original publisher's black paper-covered boards with silver spine lettering. Contains a discography in the rear. There is a remainder stamp on the top edge, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no other interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The dust jacket has a slight indentation and 1/4 tear to the top edge, else it ist in similarly nice condition with no other chips, tears, or markings. ; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 349 pages .
